Our earliest varieties of strawberries have a few berries that are ripe but not enough to open yet. We are still uncertain when we will open for the season so check back for updates.
We have noticed that we lost some of our strawberries this year due to winter damage. We have a good crop of berries this year but believe we will not have as many as we had last year. In October we had warm temperatures which did not allow the berries to go dormant for the winter. This was followed by several extremely cold nights in November prior to mulching.
We are finishing up guidelines for visitors to the strawberry patch and will post them in the next couple of days.
